As part of our call to plant and strengthen churches we want to see courageous, godly leaders trained, raised up and sent out for the gospel. In-depth theological training can help substantially to grow leaders’ spiritual formation, sharpen leadership skills and equip men and women for ministry within their context.
Advance UK is announcing the launch of a new Learning Community in partnership with Union School of Theology in the UK to run the 2-year Graduate Diploma in Theology. The course, taught by Michael Reeves, Clive Bowsher, Daniel Hames and others, involves coming together for a day a week to learn and discuss with others in the Learning Community. The course runs 22 weeks of the year.
We’re delighted to be launching Dorset Coast Learning Community, which will be led by Richard Stamp, from Gateway Church in Poole. The aim is to try to bring together attendees from around the world, both in Advance churches and others, offering a hybrid in-person and/or online weekly attendance option. For delegates in Africa and Europe this will provide an opportunity to learn together in community with those in different ministry contexts.
“We’re thrilled to be able to join with Advance in equipping future leaders for its churches and mission; it’s a special one for me because my family loves serving in our local church here in the UK as part of Advance,” says Clive Bowsher, who leads the team at Union School of Theology. Union’s courses aim to grow leaders who delight in Jesus and serve in the Spirit, grounding them in a God-centred, deep knowledge of Scripture.
