A new initiative, launched by Common Ground Church in Cape Town, aims to take its best resources and give them away for free. We asked Julie Williams, who is heading up the project, to give us some background on Common Resources and elaborate on what is available...
If you’re a church leader, you’ll know how valuable it is to find grounded, Gospel-centred material that’s not only been created for a specific community, but made available for other churches to glean from too. If you’re a church leader, you no doubt also enjoy the word, ‘free’!
Introducing Common Resources – a trove of Common Ground Church’s best resources, series, devotionals and insights, collected over their 20 year journey so far. All carefully collated and packaged with other churches in mind.
Ryan TerMorshuizen, co-leader of Common Ground elaborates,
“Having grown to ten congregations ourselves, we know the value of teaming together to leverage the best gifts and resources on a number of aspects of church life. With this in mind we’ve always tried to create material that will not only be useful across all of our congregations, but that could also be used by other church communities who may not have the same resources and gifts at their disposal.”
Here are a few of the resources available:
- Sermon Series Archive – listen to sermons, download message manuscripts and all the creative design work too.
- Bible Devotions – month-long devotionals on different books of the Bible and biblical themes. All white-labelled for you to download and use in your church.
- Best Practice Documents & Podcasts – Listen in or read up on Common Ground’s best thinking around a number of key church practices.
With an ever-growing collection of resources, series campaigns and podcasts being uploaded monthly, this site is set to strengthen and benefit many churches in the months and years to come.
